Annual Fall Festival
Arcadia's Fall Festival is an event
you won't want to miss! Our small town becomes a festival of activities
beginning the Saturday before Labor Day when you can participate in sand
volleyball, softball, or pinochle tournament. You can also join the action
on main street where the local volunteer fire department hosts water fights.
The high school is host to a talent show Saturday evening. Join us on
the street and dance the night away at a street dance.
Sunday begins with community worship services at the baseball
field with special music and a great message. The afternoon is filled
with fun at the kiddie races and a watermelon feed. Following the races,
one of the largest demolition derbies in the state of Nebraska can be
seen at the ball fields. Sunday evening ends with more dancing.
Labor Day, Monday, is when you can view one of the most
impressive parades in the area including fabulous floats, area bands,
tractors, cars, horses, etc. After a barbeque at the American Legion Club,
you are off to the Arcadia Rodeo hosted by the Arcadia Saddle Club. The
weekend comes to an end with a local talent show at the high school.
Veterans Memorial Wall
A permanent memorial dedicated to and honoring the military men and women of the United States who honorably served their country has been erected on main street of Arcadia.
The Veterans Memorial Wall is located between the library and post office in Arcadia, NE. Although the memorial is located in Arcadia, in reality, the memorial belongs to the people from across America who have contributed to its success.
Each veterans name is engraved on the brick for the wall at a cost of $75 per brick. Each brick is allowed three lines and up to 20 spaces per line.
To order your brick, mail the Veterans Memorial Wall Form and payment to: Arcadia Veterans Memorial Wall, P.O. Box 206, Arcadia, NE 68815. For more information, contact John Maschka at (308) 789-6252.
Main Street Memories Flower Patch
A beautiful flower garden with pathways was created in front of the Veterans Memorial Wall in 2003 by volunteers in the community. This project was funded by fundraisers, personal donations, and memorial funds. It is maintained by local volunteers.
